Venture Press is pleased to announce Simon Clark’s novels Vampyrrhic and Vampyrrhic Rites, two chilling horror-thrillers that bring the well-known terror of vampires to the hitherto unspoiled lands of Northern England.
Clark is an established science fiction and horror novelist from Doncaster, and is known for titles such as Nailed by the Heart, The Night of the Triffids and his Vampyrrhic series. Clark claims to be raised in a family of storytellers – with family legends telling of a stolen human skull buried beneath their garage. In his early teens he sold his first story to a radio station, but the author’s career really started with a job writing stories for fanzines like Back Brain Recluse, which published his first collection of stories – Blood and Grit – in 1990. In 2002 Clark won the British Fantasy Award for best short story, Goblin City Lights, and best novel for The Night of the Triffids, and in 2011 he won the British Fantasy Award for best novella for Humpty’s Bones. He now lives with his wife and two children, where he pursues his full-time literary career.
