Edwin Woodhall joined the Headquarters staff of the Metropolitan Police, Scotland Yard, in 1910, the year the Special Branch began its secret work. In superb prose he describes the missions he was sent on around Europe. In his line of work he was on the lookout for strange signals and enemy movement which brought him into direct contact with numerous hazardous situations.
